Katrin is a licensed architect in Germany. She worked for Murphy/Jahn and SCB in Chicago. In 2003, she designed and completed the first home to meet passive house standards in the United States. She has designed and consulted on numerous passive building projects across North America’s varied climate zones since. In 2007 she co-founded the Passive House Institute US, shifting the focus of her work towards research and education. She has presented nationally and internationally on the topic of passive building science.
