Do you know the Institute of Business and Home Safety has a Fortified Build program to ensure a home or business is more disaster-safe? FORTIFIED Home™ is a set of engineering and building standards designed to help strengthen new and existing homes through system-specific building upgrades that will reduce damage from specific natural hazards. Brian will share how and why they did it at their Habitat for Humanity affiliate, what the costs were, and what strategies they carried forward after constructing the first Certified Fortified Gold home in Minnesota.
